Designing Women

After a successful first release of my wall art - THANK YOU EMCOHORTS! - I'm switching gears!

The job I "quit" to pursue my art as a full time career, has hired me back to do the design for their new building. (*full disclosure: the job I'm referencing is the gym my husband & I opened in 2017*) While I'm thrilled the gym is doing well enough to let me go & to be stepping onto my own creative path, I'm also excited to once again flex my design muscles in the new space for Locomotion Fitness.

Luckily, I did this when we opened our first space - so I know particular things about the workings of a gym, like how durable everything needs to be, however, I refuse to make durability a design aesthetic. This space will be beautiful, bright, clean & light and a place where our community will gather & never want to leave.

So, I invite you to follow along with me as I navigate this 8,000 sqft project!! I'm excited to share my ideas, my inspirations, mood boards, fabric swatches & furniture selections with you. While I understand you won't be able to hang this particular work of mine on your walls - don't despair - I'll be hard at work creating in the studio too! My next collection will be released this summer & there are a few originals left at www.emcoarts.com/shop to hold you over til then. I'm also participating in an Art Walk in Park Circle on June 13th - from my own yard! Hooray!
